Deviating from this itinerary is unpreventable sometimes due to weather conditions, seasonal changes, frequency of visits to a village or for any other factor which may influence our travel times and schedules. Furthermore, this is the tight itinerary and sometimes we must skip a place or two depending on the season.If you would like to go to the Airport after the trek, the taxi driver will charge you $20 USD.
Depart from Tehran to Fasham road in the afternoon by a private vehicle. You will be picked up from your hotel at 5 pm. It takes only one hour to reach to the village. The altitude of the village is around 2000 m from the sea level. When you arrive, first you will get relaxed in our place and then prepare for a short walk in the village. You will enjoy the birds chirping and the river’s sound. After sightseeing and photography in the village, we will be back to the house preparing the dinner. Sometimes we make a night fire enjoying its warmth in the village. Sleeping is in a shared room on Iranian traditional style mattress
On this day we will have a short trekking between villages to get prepared for the next day’s long hiking. Today’s trekking would be a good acclimatization practice for those who live at sea level in their home town. After breakfast, we will start trekking from the village. The chosen route is an interesting path close to river between mountains with many trees covering the way. We may see herds of sheep and their shepherds and guard dogs on this day. After a while we will stop at a point for a short rest. Then we will continue trekking through a canyon hiking up to 450 m. Around noon we will arrive to another village. After exploring the village and photography we will start descending. We will be back in the afternoon. On arrival we will take a rest/shower and prepare the dinner. We will sleep one more night in the village.
Central Alborz Mountains lie north of Tehran and south of the Caspian Sea within easy reach from the Iranian capital. Here there are a number of natural protected areas and national parks with rich flora and fauna under the protection and supervision of the Iranian Environmental Organisation. Central Alborz Mountains have more than 40 peaks above 4,000m, and many fresh water rivers, picturesque lakes, valleys and canyons. So, there are excellent hiking opportunities for adventure travellers here. Iran’s three major ski resorts (Dizin, Darbandsar and Shemshak) with excellent facilities and a variety of ski lifts and slopes are located in the Central Alborz approx. 65km north of Tehran. The breathtaking “roof of Iran” and the highest peak in the country and the Middle East – Damavand (5,610m) – is also located in this region. The climate and weather conditions in the Central Alborz are seasonal. In early spring and late autumn when there is still snow at the altitudes above 3,000m, the weather can be unpredictable.
