The main activity is 4 days mountain biking for nature lovers (moderate to challenging), second part would be an exploring tour to main attractions of northern Iran, the valley of assassins, Alamut castle, Masuleh exotic village, Rasht sightseeing and Caspian Sea and third activity would be hiking in Gale Rudkhan “Rudkhan Castle”. The biking route is between central Alborz mountains to the Caspian Sea. This route follows millennia old routes that have been established in humans, which their origins are lost in the fog of time. More recently our journey was made famous by a British lady who came to these parts about one hundred years ago in search of the valley of the assassins and wrote a book about her adventures. Her name is Freya Stark and her book is available in English. This is a memorable trip not only because of biking in extraordinary landscapes and the variety of terrains, but also because we cross paths with history and myth some of which have acquired world renown. This is a voyage through a region that was the territory of Ismaelies and the famous Hassan Sabbah and his infamous Alamut Castle. The castle and quite a few other fortifications belonged to the Hashashin or what in the west is more commonly known as the Assassins. Biking will start from around 1200m altitude from the sea level and we will bike up some hills and mountains on the way. The highest point of the trip would be around 2800m and when tour finishes we will be at sea level in the Caspian sea.

This tour will start from Tehran to the shore of the Caspian sea. In this Biking and sightseeing tour you will have the chance of having activity and enjoying beautiful landscapes. Although the highlight of this tour can be biking but visiting the castle of Alamut and knowing more about its history, visiting the remains of the castle of assassin, visiting the beautiful “Ovan” lake and the chance of staying with local people and tasting their food are all advantages of the trip. Also, the route encountered in this itinerary is a mountainous scenery with many beautiful spots ideal for photography. North of Iran around Caspian Sea is an ideal climate for planting rice, tea, fruit etc, that’s why one day of this tour has been allocated to an exploring day visiting pottery workshop, rice farms and a tea factory giving you the maximum time to mix with local people and know more about their culture and customs.

In the second part of the trip we will visit Masuleh which is a historical village attracting many tourists because of its architecture and people. Masuleh is surrounded by forest and fog is the predominant weather feature of Masuleh. Hiking in Rudkhan castle which is a medieval brick and stone castle built on two tips of a mountain is the last activity considered in this trip.

Rasht is the capital of Gilan province by far the largest city of the Shomal (Caspian littoral) region. Gilan is very famous for foods and one of the best places in Iran in terms of vegetarian foods. We will visit old Rasht bazaar as well.

The history of Alamut Castle and this particular sect of Ismaelies go back to about 1000 years. They were able to build numerous castles and outposts throughout the mountains and maintain an independent lifestyle away from any central power. They lasted till the Mongol invasion of Persia about 300 years later during the 14th century. Their history is long and quite complex, during the trip we will have a chance to give more information and provide the chance to closely examine some of the physical remains of their structures.
