This package is suitable for anyone has limited time for biking and wishing to have a special experience of biking in the central desert of Iran in Non-touristic area. It’s a tailored package designed to disconnect you from normal life and take you to the heart of the desert. This tour is a combination of different types of landscapes in Dasht-e Kavir. An English speaking guide would be with the group during biking and the bikes are included in this package and will be prepared with Adventure Iran. The journey will start from Esfahan by driving to the heart of the desert and you will have 3 days biking there and finally you will finish the tour in Yazd by driving with visiting the interesting places on the way. There is no support vehicle during biking for this trip but we have access to the local vehicle for any special case.
The biking route is part of the old and famous “Silk Road”. We have carefully chosen a part of this route that offers different eco-systems and changes in the landscape which simply are quite astonishing. We will come across mountain slopes and flowing dried rivers as well as the magical desert with its different colors and formations that together will make this journey enjoyable, but most remarkably an adventure that will stay in the memory and grow as a wonderful experience along one’s life. On this trip the approximate length of biking would be 170 km. The main part of the route is dirt road and sometimes for having the best views and visibility we will go on the sand dunes in the desert. Also, we will cross a few villages and oases on the way. You will stay in the traditional guest house in the oasis with warm hospitality of the locals. Depending on the season we might see semi wild camels, rabbits, foxes and if lucky enough some beautiful scorpions!!!!!!
In this tour you will walk more or less on the same route that Sven Anders Hedin, (19 February 1865 – 26 November 1952), the Swedish geographer, topographer, explorer, photographer and travel writer travelled by paddle steamer in 1886. He travelled to Persia twice in 1886 and 1890. In 1887, Hedin published a book about these travels entitled Through Persia, Mesopotamia and the Caucasus.

This biking desert journey will start from Esfahan at 6 AM driving around 375 km taking around 4 hours. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel. You will have to stop in Naiin and Anarak. In Naiin you will visit its historic mosque which is one of the oldest mosques in Iran going back to the 9th century. Anarak is located at the starting point of the Iran Central Desert. In Anarak there is a special viewpoint from a tower to see the whole town. We will hike up to the tower for photography and watching the town. Proceeding after Anarak towards the desert we will arrive to the starting point of the biking before noon. We will start the biking immediately after arriving. At the start point the bikes will be check and we will kick the amazing road to Mesr oasis. The most part of the road is a flat dirt road with a short uphill around 200m of altitude. After a few kilometres the sand dunes will appear on the horizon which means we are at our first stop point to check out the landscape, have a photo session and frolicking in the sand if it suits your tastes. At a good place we will have our pre-packed lunch and then continue pedaling towards another oasis called Farahzad. Late afternoon you will arrive to a traditional guest house to rest. The landscape is quite interesting and there have been always a reason to stop and look at the horizon, examine more closely an obdurate plant that is alive and growing in an imponderable spot. The beginning of the road is paved through the desert and some parts are sand dunes. The dirt road you will be entering is mostly flat. We will see more desert flora in the form of small trees and bushes on mountain slopes. There are also seasonal flowing rivers, occasionally quite vigorous. We will stop by an old underground water reservoir for lunch and continue pedaling towards Aroosan. The oasis is surrounded by palm trees and there are some agriculture and spring water located in the vicinity. There are few old people living there and a good place to stop and do some photography. After we will hit the road to another oasis (Koreh Gaz) which is the last part of our biking for today. This is a small oasis pretty much deserted. We will have a traditional dinner there before making fire to spend some time around it. There is a simple house renovated by locals as a traditional house for our sojourn.
